Following her role as Catwoman in Batman Returns, Michelle Pfeiffer returns to the superhero fold with Marvel Studiosâ Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Michelle Pfeiffer is set to play Janet van Dyne, the mother to Evangeline Lillyâs Hope van Dyne and the original Wasp, who disappeared inside the Quantum Realm.
âIt had this great sense of humor about it and just this unusual tone,â she said about director Peyton Reedâs take on the first Ant-Man. âThis new script has the same thing. Itâs nicely written.âÂ
Michelle Pfeiffer also offered up she is currently studying up on the Marvel comic books. Â
âI just started reading them, and Iâm having a really hard time,â Pfeiffer said. âThereâs so much information on a page, and itâs not linear. When Iâm skim reading them itâs difficult to know that this part comes after that and who is talking in what bubble.â

Regarding her role as Catwoman, with DC currently creating their Batman universe of films and with Catwoman said to be featured in the Margot Robbie Gotham City Sirens movie, would Michelle Pfeiffer consider a return to the role? You betcha!
Pfeiffer says she would love to reprise her Catwoman character, though she wonât repeat the lengths she went to in playing Selina Kyle. In the pre-CGI era, a scene where Catwoman sticks a bird in her mouth before releasing it required her to perform with a live animal. âI canât believe I did that,â she says. âI could have gotten a disease.â
Ant-Man and the Wasp has a July 6, 2018 release.
