Michael Keaton is not playing the Spider-Man: Homecoming villain.
Following Variety reporting Keaton was in talks for a villain role, Deadline then followed up that the deal was unlikely.
Now a reporter for THR says the deal never got passed the offer stage, meaning Marvel/Sony offered Keaton a role, but he turned it down.
The current rumored villain for the movie is Vulture.
Spider-Man: Homecoming has a July 7, 2017 release directed by Jon Watts starring Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori.
The dangers of trying to report deal too early: Michael Keaton NOT doing Spider-Man. Talks never got past the offer stage.
