Matt Reeves Batman To Be Part of DC Universe

The internet exploded when it was reported that the Matt Reeves The Batman movie was going to be set outside the existing DCEU and be a standalone movie.

In an interview last month, Matt Reeves said:

“Well, I have a vision for a way to do something with that character that feels like it resonates with me personally, and a perspective that can grow out into other things. When they [Warner Bros.] approached me, what they said was ‘look, it’s a standalone, it’s not part of the extended universe.'”

To add to that, a Joker origins movie was recently announced also said to be outside the DCEU, which only seemingly further substantiated the thought that Matt Reeve's The Batman movie would also go a similar route and without Ben Affleck.

The good news is that the speculation about The Batman not being a part of the DCEU is wrong, as word has reached Matt Reeves who has taken to Twitter to clear up confusion and states his Batman will be a part of the DC Universe. Likewise, DC Comics co-runner Geoff Johns retweeted what Matt Reeves had to say.
