Marvel Taps ‘Squeeze’ Animation Studio For ‘What If?’

Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige have tapped Squeeze animation studio out of Quebec, Canada to tackle the upcoming What If? animated series for Disney Plus.

Squeeze will create five of the ten episodes for the first season of What If? that offers an alternate take on the MCU films.

“Marvel was looking for a world-class animation studio to come up with a fresh and unique style that would be in keeping with their brand essence. We really clicked, right from our initial talks in Los Angeles last year, and they loved our proposal. I’m thrilled that our artists’ creativity and talent resonated so strongly in Hollywood,” Squeeze CEO and co-founder Denis Doré said in a statement to Variety.

Squeeze already has a Marvel connection as the studio was behind the animation for The Avengers: Battle for Earth Wii U and Xbox 360 super hero brawler video game based on the Secret Invasion storyline released by Ubisoft.

Additional projects from Squeeze include Transformers: Age of Extinction, the Sudden Attack 2 cinematic trailer, Titan Empires and the Assassin’s Creed 4 – Freedom Cry DLC trailer.

You can check out a highlight reel below where What If? looks to be in good hands.

The recent launch of Disney Plus in November also saw the first What If? footage released. See below.
