Russo Brothers Want Secret Wars Movie

Anthony and Joe Russo offer up they wouldn’t mind tackling Secret Wars in the MCU!

The Russo brothers have been busy developing The Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 at Marvel Studios, not to mention Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

So does that mean they will be taking a break or will even be done with Marvel?

It doesn’t seem likely as the duo are excited for the X-Men and Fantastic Four at Marvel!

“Look, we love working with Marvel,” Joe Russo told linternaute.com. “We prioritize the quality of our experience with the quality of the work.”

“Yeah. It’s been one of the best experiences,” Anthony Russo added.

“Both areas have been the highest you could possibly want to desire,” Joe Russo said. “We’ve had an amazing experience working with them.”

“We’ve been so focused on these movies, though, we haven’t been thinking beyond them,” Anthony Russo said.

“We’ll say if the Fox deal goes through with Disney there’s a lot more characters to work with all of a sudden,” Joe Russo said. “It would be interesting to do something like Secret Wars
”

In the Marvel Comics, Secret Wars is a story featuring the Beyonder teleporting both super heroes and villains to “Battleworld” where he promises to give the victors anything their heart desires if they survive a battle to the death. The story happens to feature a lot of Marvel characters, all of which are presently spread across different movie studios. Secret Wars also happened to feature the first appearance of the black Spider-Man symbiote suit, which goes on to become Venom.

The heroes included various Avengers (Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Thor, Wasp); members of the Fantastic Four (Human Torch, Mister Fantastic, The Thing); Spider-Man, and members of the X-Men (Colossus, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Professor X, Rogue, Storm, Wolverine, and Lockheed the Dragon).

The Disney and Fox deal is expected to go through in 12 to 18 months, so just maybe Secret Wars will be a part of Marvel’s Phase 4 plans, which will be COSMIC.

Some of the villains included Magneto, Absorbing Man, Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus, the Enchantress, Kang the Conqueror, Klaw, the Lizard, Molecule Man, Titania, Ultron, Volcana, the Wrecking Crew, and even Galactus.

Wow! What a movie Secret Wars would be!
