Marvel reveals the official title, premiere date, teaser and confirms Agatha All Along is a musical at the Disney Upfronts in NYC.

As I went over the last time, the show was originally announced as Agatha: House of Harkness, then it was changed to Agatha: Coven of Chaos, then to Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, and then the title was said to be Agatha All Along, which references the catchy jingle she sang in WandaVision.

Back in March saw a fifth title revealed as Disney+ simply referred to the series as Agatha.

Update: The series premiers with two episodes on Sept. 18 on Disney+, and the trades are stating the title is Agatha All Along.

Update #2: At The Disney Upfronts, the title is confirmed, and Marvel also released a teaser. Via IGN, the trailer shows:

Agatha Harkness not as the witch we saw in WandaVision, but as a detective struggling with a murder case. As she glances at a list of dates, next to October 13, a familar name appears: “W. Maximoff.”

Aubrey Plaza’s character appears after that, asking Agatha, “Is this really how you see yourself?”

“That witch is gone, leaving you in a distorted spell,” Plaza says. “Claw your way out.”

We then see Agatha snap out of it, saying, “She took every bit of power had. I can be that witch again.”

What follows are a number of eerie, witchy sequences as Agatha vows to walk the Witch’s Road and build her coven. Then, we get a quick look at Patti LuPone’s character.

“What witch in her right mind would join Agatha Harkness’ coven?” LuPone says.

Agatha gasps and responds, “I’m not looking for right-minded witches.

Update #3: Agatha trailer looks to be released on May 17.

Update #4: The cast confirms the show is a musical (which fits with the title):

Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe?

Regarding the sixth title, eagle-eyed fans spotted that Marvel posted the above title card, Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe, which is an obvious reference to the Chronicles of Narnia.

However, Marvel took the post down right away, so likely what is going on is that Marvel is having fun with these title “reveals” as it keeps fans talking about the show.

“The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe” doesn’t seem like it would be a good title, and likely it’s not the title, so this all looks to be part of the marketing, of sorts.

I’d actually bet big money that the first three or four titles were actual changes, but now that it has gotten to the point of being ridiculous, Marvel is having fun with it and making it seems as if it’s a part of marketing.

What is Agatha about?

Marvel.com still lists the title as Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

The series stars Kathryn Hahn as the titular character who returns from WandaVision.

Aubrey Plaza also plays Rio, and also starring in the series includes Joe Locke, Patti LuPone as Lilia, Sasheer Zamata as Jen K, and Ali Ahn as Alice, with Emma Caulfield Ford, Maria Dizzia, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Okwui Okpokwasili.

A previously leaked description for the first episode offers that we see Agatha Harkness finally breaking out of a spell she has been trapped in (since the end of WandaVision). She canā€™t wait to go back to her old murderous ways but she soon discovers she is powerless. The only way forward for her is to embark on a perilous quest to get her powers back with the help of an unlikely friend or two.
