Skydance New Media and Marvel Games have unleashed the story trailer and cast for the upcoming Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra video game at the Game Developer’s Conference (GDC 2024).
The game was first announced back in 2022 with limited details that only mentioned the game would center around Captain America and Black Panther in WWII.
Now the story trailer reveals that in addition to Cap and Black Panther (T’Challa’s grandfather), two additional characters are a part of the team with Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris, and Gabriel Jones, a U.S. soldier and member of the Howling Commandos.
Who is the cast?
Making up the cast includes Drew Moerlein as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America; Khary Payton plays Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather; Megalyn Echikunwoke plays Nanali, and Marque Richardson plays Gabriel Jones.
The additional cast includes Lyne Renée plays Julie, a key ally in the French Resistance, and Joel Johnstone rounds out our cast as Howard Stark.
What is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra about?
“In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Skydance New Media and Marvel Games share an original story where an ensemble of four heroes must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy,” states the video description.
The game will also feature an original music score by Grammy Award-winning composer Stephen Barton who is known for his work in film, television and games, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Star Trek Picard, Apex Legends, Titanfall, and 12 Monkeys.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be released in 2025 and is expected to be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
