The Mandalorian & Grogu Gets Free IMAX Event With 25 Minutes Of Footage

Lucasfilm and IMAX are rolling out a new fan event for The Mandalorian & Grogu tied to Star Wars Day.

The promotion invites fans to celebrate May the 4th with a special IMAX event featuring more than 25 minutes of never-before-seen footage from the movie, ahead of its theatrical release on May 22.

StarWars.com and the film’s official page also continue to push that tickets are on sale now for the theatrical run.

The event is being billed as a free advance screening of The Mandalorian & Grogu: May the 4th IMAX Special Look Event.

According to the event details, screenings take place Monday, May 4, at 7:00 p.m. local time, with no pre-show content, and attendees are being told to arrive by 6:00 p.m. for seating. Fans who get in will also receive a limited-edition mini poster at the theater.

The Mandalorian & Grogu opens only in theaters and IMAX on May 22, 2026.

The film is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jeremy Allen White.

Synopsis: The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.
