Lindsay Lohan has been taking to Twitter to drum up support to play Batgirl for Joss Whedon.
She asked her followers to retweet if she should star in the new Batgirl movie and that everyone tell Joss Whedon.
Lindsay Lohan then followed that up with a second tweet featuring herself side-by-side an image of Batgirl Barbara Gordon.
Now it turns out she name dropped Batgirl while on the The Wendy Williams Show and blamed not being able to audition for the part on her sordid past.
“I don’t like when people always bring up and rehash the past,” Lindsay Lohan said. “This is actually quite a long time ago if you think about it now, and I’d rather just stay focused on what I want to do next. Whenever people bring up the past things I’ve experienced and gone through — like jail, working at the morgue, which is actually really traumatizing stuff; I’ve learned my lessons — it distracts from actually maybe meeting with people to do Batgirl, maybe doing a Mean Girls 2. It really distracts people, and they only think about the negative and I don’t think that’s a way to move forward in life.”
Here is the footage:
Joss Whedon is currently developing Batgirl, in which he has said the role won’t necessarily be going to a famous actress, so if Lindsay Lohan was passed on for the role, it may not have anything to do with her previous behavior.
“I feel like I am creating this character. I am going to dialogue with her, and then we’ll see who joins that later on,” Whedon said last year. “I doubt it will be a name. I think this is somewhere where you go and find Batgirl, then you cast her. I’m not against movie stars. They’re great, but you need somebody who is going to be just right, and the situation like this, the name carries a lot of weight, so it’s not as critical.”
