Kevin Feige Says Having X-Men Would Be Fun

The X-Men, Fantastic Four, Wolverine, Deadpool and related characters are set to return home to Marvel in about 12-18 months if everything goes according to play, as Disney is purchasing Fox Studios.

While discussing The Avengers: Infinity War with EW.com, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is questioned about the X-Men and related characters at Marvel Studios, which sees Feige not offer much, but at least he says having them would be fun.

No. It’s all about getting Infinity War finished and out, starting Captain MarvelAnt-Man and the Wasp, Untitled Avengers, the next Spider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3. These are the ones that are keeping us busy. When and how that deal with Fox finishes and comes together and we’re told, “Hey, now you can start working on it. Now you can start thinking about it,” is when we’ll actually start thinking about it. I will say just the notion of having what, frankly, most other companies with [intellectual property] have all along, which is access to all of their characters, that would be fun.

Kevin Feige said more of  the same last month about the Fox and Disney deal to Vulture:

“I read about it in the press like most people did. The truth of the matter as I understand it is the deal has to be figured ou. There’s been no communication. We’re not thinking about it. We’re focusing on everything we’ve already announced. If and when the deal actually happens, we’ll start to think more about it. Until then, we have a lot to do.”

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which is produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee are the executive producers. Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay. “Avengers: Infinity War” releases in U.S. theaters on April 27, 2018.
