Karl Urban has finished filming on Mortal Kombat 2 where he plays none other than Johnny Cage.
“That’s a picture wrap for me & Johnny Cage on Mortal Kombat 2!” posted the actor along with a pic of himself on Instagram.
Urban continued, “Massive thanks to our incredible crew, cast and phenomenal stunt team. Hands down the most action packed fun I’ve ever had on a film! Can’t wait for y’all to see it. Special thanks to everyone offset who helped make this time here on the Gold Coast Australia such a pleasure…”

The cast also includes Ludi Lin who is back as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks returns as Jax Briggs, Tati Gabrielle plays Jade, Jessica McNamee is Sonya Blade, Martyn Ford is Shao Khan, Hiroyuki Sanada is Scorpion, Damon Herriman plays Quan Chi, Tadanobu Asano is Lord Raiden, Lewis Tan is Cole Young, Joe Taslim plays Sub-Zero, Adeline Rudolph is Kitana, Chin Han is Shang Tsung, Max Huang plays Kung Lao, CJ. Bloomfield is Baraka, with Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod, and Ana Thu Nguyen as Sindel.
The film doesn’t have an official release date as of yet. Simon McQuoid also returns to direct following Mortal Kombat in 2021.
Plot details are unknown but thanks to leaked character descriptions, Mortal Kombat 2 sees Shao Khan, the emperor of Outerworld, killing King Jerrod, taking his throne, and turning his queen into an undead servant. Their daughter, Kitana, scarred for life after her father and mother are killed, seeks revenge.
