The Justice League movie has finally passed the $600 million-mark at the box office.
Justice League currently has a domestic gross of $212,060,371, with its foreign gross at $401,300,000, giving it a current worldwide box office gross of $613,360,371.
Justice League is performing similar to Man of Steel, which finished with a $668,045,518 box office gross ($291,045,518 in the U.S., with $377,000,000 foreign).
There has been talks of releasing an extended version, but it is unclear if it will be a Joss Whedon extended Justice League version or a Zack Snyder extended Justice League version.
Most of the talk has been amongst the fans, but Ciaran Hinds, the voice of Steppenwolf, recently came out and said he wants a Zack Snyder cut. In addition, VFX artists who worked on the movie have been leaking details.
Zack Snyder’s cinematographer Fabian Wagner also revealed scenes were filmed with Henry Cavill in the black Superman suit.
An online petition also has 150K signatures requesting Zack Snyder’s Justice League be released.
WB hasn’t officially commented on whether or not an extended Justice League cut will be released, but rumors are stating it would be too expensive because Zack Snyder’s footage is in an unfinished state.
A recent report also claims big changes are coming to the DCEU next month as the DCEU will get someone new in charge, with the current DCEU co-runners leaving or getting a demotion, and Ben Affleck is said to be getting replaced as Batman.
Time Warner, WB’s parent company, is said to be unhappy with Justice League and the DCEU.
It’s not all bad for the DCEU as additional movies are in the works including James Wan’s Aquaman, David F. Sandberg’s Shazam!, Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman sequel, and a Flash movie looks to be in development (I’m starting to doubt it will be a Flashpoint movie because it may be too dark, which was a big complaint about Snyder’s films).
