Joker 2 has finished filming as director Todd Phillips shares new Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix images on social media.
“That’s a wrap. Thanks to these two (+ the entire cast) and the BEST crew that the film industry has to offer. From top to bottom. Gonna crawl into a cave now (edit room) and put it all together,” posted the director on Instagram.
What is Joker: Folie à Deux about?
Joker: Folie à Deux has an October 4, 2024 release date and while no official description has been released, Folie à Deux, refers to a French term for a medical condition involving “madness for two,” so it’s guessed the sequel deals with Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, a female version of Joker who is just as crazy and dark as the Joaquin Phoenix version, which is suggested by set images and video.

Is the flick a musical?
It’s also been said the movie is actually a musical, though it is unclear if that means the entire film is a musical or possibly just parts of the movie that play within Joker’s mind where Lady Gaga sings as Harley Quinn.
First film is a big success
The first movie was a massive success and a surprising one at that as Joker released in 2019 opened close to $100 million and went on to bring in over $1 billion worldwide, with Joaquin Phoenix also won the Oscar for Best Actor, the second actor to do so playing the Batman villain following Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight.
