Peacemaker Season 2 will start filming in the summer confirms Jennifer Holland who will be returning as Agent Emilia Harcourt from the previous season, the Shazam: Fury of the Gods post-credit scene, and The Suicide Squad.
Holland also happens to be the wife of James Gunn who is in charge of the show and the co-head of the DCU, so it’s certain she knows what she is talking about.

“The source is kind of iffy but this is true,” he joked about his wife. “John Cena shared this on Howard Stern last week. To answer your follow-up questions: yes, we’ll be shooting Superman & Peacemaker simultaneously; yes, I’ve written all the episodes; but, no, in the interest of getting the show out there I won’t be able to direct them all (only some); & yes, Waller’s still happening & Jeremy & Christal are hard at work writing great stuff, but the schedule was impacted by the strikes so it’ll come after Peacemaker.”

Gunn has confirmed on social media that he wrote Peacemaker Season 2, that it will feature a cool new intro, and has confirmed the return of additional cast member including Danielle Brooks’ Leota Adebayo and Steve Agee’s John Economos.

Cast returns to the DCU
Of course, John Cena will also be back as Christopher Smith, the titular character, who said he has complete confidence in Gunn.
“I sure as hell had a fun time doing that,” Cena told Variety back in December. “I know they’re shifting around some things around over at DC, but I know that James Gunn’s made some statements that we’re going in for Season 2, and what he says usually he does.”
As the series was previously a part of the DCEU, and as some of Zack Snyder’s Justice League actors and characters appeared in the last episode of Season 1, it remains to be seen how James Gunn is going to explain his new DCU.
In addition to members of the Peacemaker cast, Gunn also confirmed Viola Davis is coming to the DCU as her character, Amanda Waller, and so is Xolo Maridueña from Blue Beetle.
The series follows John Cena in the aftermath of The Suicide Squad and is described following a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.
