Universal Pictures announces Jamie Lee Curtis will be back for a new Halloween movie from director David Gordon Green, John Carpenter and Blumhouse Productions.
Jamie Lee Curtis reprises as Laurie Strode, the older sister to Michael Myers, who first appeared in the John Carpenter original Halloween in 1978. It’s said this Halloween is the final movie in the franchise.
The new Halloween has an October 19, 2018 release date.
The new Halloween movie sees Laurie Strode having a final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
John Carpenter is serving as executive producer and creative consultant, with Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Split) also as executive producer.
David Gordon Green wrote the new Halloween script with Danny McBride.
