James Gunn takes to social media to share new looks from his Superman movie at Lois Lane, Mister Terrific and The Engineer.
Gunn posted the behind-the-scenes images on social media in celebration of Edi Gathegi’s birthday and the anniversary of The Engineer. The pic also features Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
“Happy Birthday to my great friend and great actor Edi Gathegi, who you can see in all his technological glory in #Superman in July!” tweeted Gunn.
In a separate tweet, Gunn said, “Happy Anniversary to the Engineer, created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, who you can see played to sinister perfection by puppy in human form Gaby de Faria in #Superman this July!”
Today also marks the anniversary of Lobo where Jason Momoa will be playing DC’s Main Main in the Supergirl movie which is now filming.
“On the anniversary of Lobo, I can’t help but think of a text I received from Jason Momoa on the morning it was announced Peter & I were the heads of DC Studios — the day Jason & I first discussed him joining the DCU as Lobo. I’ve loved watching Jason bring him to life & can’t wait to share that with all of you,” tweeted Gunn.

Superman gets released on July 11, 2025 written and directed by Gunn. The film also stars David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel and Clark Kent. Nicholas Hoult stars as Lex Luthor.
Supergirl flies into theaters on June 26, 2026 directed by Craig Gillespie, with the script by Ana Nogueira. Starring as Supergirl is Milly Alock known for HBO’s Game of Thrones. Eve Ridley is playing Ruthye Marye Knoll, with Matthias Schoenaerts as the villain, Krem of the Yellow Hills.
