James Gunn Talked Shazam and Aquaman With DC

James Gunn Talked Shazam and Aquaman With DC

James Gunn recently debuted his new Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer for Marvel, which saw the trailer nab the second most views for a trailer in history.

Gunn also has The Belko Experiment coming out of which he wrote and is producing.

Following those two movies it’s unknown what is next for James Gunn as he hasn’t said if he is going to tackle Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Could James Gunn be DC bound?

Gunn took to Facebook Live to chat with the fans, and one DC fan told James Gunn to direct Dwayne Johnson’s Shazam.

“I definitely love Shazam. I think it’s a great project,” Gunn said. “I was actually at a party talking with a producer of Shazam last night and telling him what a great project that movie could potentially be.”

Gunn also added that he talked about the Jason Momoa Aquaman movie.

“I talked to my friend James Wan last night about Aquaman, which I am very excited about,” Gunn said. “James and I have been friends for a long time, and he got me really excited. I’m really excited for him and what he is doing with that movie. Some good stuff happening over at DC.”

To be clear this is not James Gunn stating he is in talks with DC to direct a movie, just that he has talked with his friends about DCEU films.

Back in August did see James Gunn confirm he was offered DC movies, but Gunn said he wasn’t sure if he would do one at that time. In addition to being interested in Shazam, Gunn also said he likes Metal Men, Swamp Thing and Jonah Hex.

With James Gunn conquering the Marvel Universe, maybe it’s time for James to conquer DC?
