James Gunn & Hugh Jackman React To Oscar Nominations

Yesterday saw the 2018 OscarĀ Nominations announced, which included nominations for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Fox Studios’ Ā Logan movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is up for the Best Visual Effects Oscar, with Logan up forĀ BestĀ Adapted Screenplay.

James Gunn took to social media as did Hugh Jackman and James MangoldĀ to react to the news where we also see noted comic book writer Mark Millar congratulatesĀ Mangold.

James Gunn:Ā

Whoo hoo! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.Ā

I am extraordinarily grateful to the thousands of artists who put their hearts into creating this magical world, the great companies who had our backs every step of the way, and our Visual Effects Supervisor Chris Townsend and his team who held it all together.Ā

You worked for over a year on a single shot (the Groot dance), created the largest visual effects environment ever within Ego’s core, and made so many of us cry with a talking raccoon. I couldn’t have imagined a harder working, more committed and inspired group of men and women. Love to you all this morning. Each of you owns part of this nomination.

Hugh Jackman:

If Hollywood kept statistics for the most assists in nominations/wins … JIM MANGOLD would be the league leader. Today, he finally got the recognition he deserves. Congrats brother.Ā #loganĀ #wolverineĀ #Mangold#oscars2018

James Mangold:
