IT: Welcome to Derry Full Trailer Released, NYCC Panel Announced

HBO has dropped the full trailer for IT: Welcome to Derry, the highly anticipated IT prequel series arriving October 26 on Max.

The trailer description includes a chilling tagline: “You were never meant to leave.”

Alongside the trailer, HBO also released a brand-new poster teasing Pennywise’s sinister return to Derry, Maine, just in time for spooky season. Watch below.

NYCC 2025 Panel Set

HBO Max has also announced that the cast and creatives behind IT: Welcome to Derry will appear at New York Comic Con on Saturday, October 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET on the Empire Stage (full details here).

The panel promises:

  • Never-before-seen footage
  • A special red band, uncensored version of the trailer

Panelists include: Andy Muschietti (director, EP), Barbara Muschietti (EP), Jason Fuchs (co-showrunner, EP), Brad Caleb Kane (co-showrunner, EP), and cast members Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, and Kimberly Guerrero. Collider’s Perri Nemiroff will moderate.

More About the Series

Set in the IT universe created by Stephen King, the series explores the origins of Pennywise and the dark history of Derry. It’s a prequel to Andy Muschietti’s hit films IT and IT Chapter Two.

The cast includes Bill Skarsgård, returning as Pennywise, alongside Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso.

Executive producers include the Muschiettis, Jason Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin.
