With the release of the Iron Man 3 trailer came waves of not only excitement, but perhaps a bit of skepticism.

The Iron Man 3 trailer revealed a much different take than its previous counterparts with it being a very dark showing.

Fans immediately noted the difference and remarked that it was missing that Tony Stark flavor.

However, it turns out that Iron Man 3 will not be all that dark and seems to be featuring that Robert Downey Jr. we all know and love from Iron Man and The Avengers.

Speaking with Sci-Fi Now Magazine, Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige said that Iron Man 3 will not be so serious.

“Frankly, the first step of the grand plan with Iron Man 3 is to prove they are just as interesting, if not more so, by themselves as they were when they were all together in The Avengers,” Feige told Sci-Fi Now. “Iron Man 3, by design, is a very serious character study. It’s not a serious movie, but we seriously dug into exploring more of Tony, of Rhodey [Don Cheadle’s James ‘War Machine’ Rhodes and of Pepper [Potts, Gwyneth Paltrow], without calling SHIELD and calling Thor or Cap.”

Iron Man 3 blasts off May 3rd, 2013 directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.
