Iron Man 3 (2013): It Really Is Iron Patriot

Remember images of the Iron Patriot armor from the set of Iron Man 3 that hit the net?

It looked as if James Badge Dale was in the armor as the character Eric Savin.

And then we were told, “No! It’s just War Machine!”

We were told Don Cheadle took a day off and a fill-in actor was suiting up.

Yeah, we weren’t buying that.

Was anybody?

Now, in what seems to prove it may actually be Norman Osborn’s (at least in the comics) Iron Patriot armor, Marvel and Disney have filed a number of trademarks for “Iron Patriot.”

There are trademarks for online use, toys, and more. Seems likely they wouldn’t be using Iron Patriot unless it was movie related.

I suppose it could still be Rhodey in the armor, but it is the Iron Patriot.

Iron Man 3 blasts off May 3rd, 2013 directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.

The Avengers 2 assembles May 1, 2015 with Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013, Captain America: Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014, and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on August 1, 2014.
