House of the Dragon Season 4 Arrives in 2028

House of the Dragon is getting a fourth season ahead of its Season 3 premiere this summer.

Season 4 is targeting a 2028 release. Showrunner Ryan Condal has said the series would run four seasons, but HBO didn’t mention an end date. According to Deadline’s sources, Condal is still writing Season 4, and the final endpoint could shift once the season is finished.

House of the Dragon follows the Targaryen family at the height of their power, charting the events that lead to the brutal Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. The series focuses on rival heirs, shifting alliances, and the political breakdown that tears the dynasty apart.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Renewed for Season 2

The next Game of Thrones prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, premieres January 18. HBO has already given it a Season 2 order, with the new season expected in 2027.

The series takes place a century before Game of Thrones, Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire Egg travel across Westeros, taking on enemies, challenges, and the politics of a still-powerful Targaryen dynasty. It’s a period when dragons are gone but not forgotten, and the pair’s path leads them into danger, big decisions, and the rise of their own destinies.
