Kevin Feige gives another update regarding the Guardians of the Galaxy movie making it clear that it isn’t Marvel’s Star Wars.

Feige tells EmpireGuardians of the Galaxy exists in the Marvel Universe, perhaps trying to clarify for fans that think just because it’s a space movie it will be the Marvel version of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

We’re not making this to make Marvel’s Star Wars. We’re doing this to explore the other side of the existing Marvel Universe. The fact that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is a human from our time, that he carries a personal cassette recorder with him, already it’s very different. It’s not a long, time ago in a galaxy far, far away, it’s now in a galaxy far, far away.

Previously James Gunn did say something similar in that he thinks Guardians of the Galaxy is “very, very different from Star Wars.”

However, the movie does have a couple references of sorts to Star Wars as Star-Lord’s helmet was created by the same sculptor that did Darth Vader’s mask.

Also the piece of concept art revealed was vaguely similar to a famous scene in Star Wars as well:
