God of War Series Begins Production, First Look at Ryan Hurst as Kratos Revealed

Amazon’s God of War series has officially started production, and Prime Video has released the first-look image of Ryan Hurst as Kratos alongside Callum Vinson as Atreus.

Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios shared the image to mark the beginning of filming on the live-action adaptation of PlayStation’s massively popular mythology-based franchise. The series already carries a two-season order.

Ryan Hurst and Callum Vinson Lead the Cast

Ryan Hurst takes on the role of Kratos, the Spartan warrior turned god, while Callum Vinson plays his son Atreus. The story follows the father and son as they set out to spread the ashes of Faye, Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother. Along the way, Kratos attempts to guide his son to become a better god, while Atreus challenges his father to become a better man.

The previously announced cast includes Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok.
