Prime Video’s God of War series has added four new cast members as production continues in Vancouver on the two-season adaptation from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
Louis Cunningham, Ben Chapple, Evelyn Miller, and Island Austin have joined the series, which is produced in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.
Louis Cunningham Cast As Modi
Louis Cunningham (Marie Antoinette) has signed on as a series regular to play Modi, described as Sif and Thor’s middle child.
The character is said to have a gentle disposition and an obsessive curiosity, the type who loves puzzles and complex problems so much he can lose track of everything around him.
Ben Chapple To Play Magni
Ben Chapple (Good Cop Bad Cop, Playing for Keeps) will recur as Magni, described as Sif and Thor’s eldest son.
Magni is billed as handsome and adventurous, an excellent hunter, and a natural ladies’ man, but he’s also starting to feel the emptiness of an immortal playboy life and wants a bigger purpose. He’s also extremely protective of his younger brother, Modi.
Evelyn Miller Joins As Gna
Evelyn Miller (Foundation, The Lovers) has been cast to recur as Gna, described as Odin’s Valkyrie commander.
The character is positioned as a fierce warrior devoted to duty, with loyalty to Odin that borders on fanatical. She’s highly disciplined, uncompromising, and committed to serving the realm, even when it comes at a cost to herself.
Island Austin Cast As Thrud
Island Austin (Insidious 6, I Can Only Imagine 2) has signed on as a series regular to play Thrud, described as Sif and Thor’s youngest child.
The character is said to be precocious, inquisitive, and fearless, with a strong desire for knowledge. She’s also described as gentle and kind, often acting as a peace-maker within her troubled family. The press release notes that Odin sees seeds of greatness in Thrud and forms a special bond with her.
What We Know About the God of War Series
God of War follows father and son Kratos and Atreus as they travel to spread the ashes of Faye, their wife and mother. Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father to be a better human.
Previously announced cast includes Ryan Hurst as Kratos, Callum Vinson as Atreus, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok.
Ronald D. Moore serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Executive producers include Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon. Joe Menosky, Marc Bernardin, Tania Lotia, and Ben McGinnis serve as co-executive producers.
Emmy-winning director Frederick E.O. Toye (Shōgun, The Boys, Fallout) is set to direct the first two episodes.
The series remains without a release date.
