Galactus Leak: Fantastic Four Movie’s Cosmic Threat Revealed

Galactus Leak: Fantastic Four Movie’s Cosmic Threat Revealed

While only teased in the recent trailers, we get a look at Galactus in merchandise and promo art for the MCU’s upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Galactus leaks:

The comic book-accurate look at Galactus comes via promo art out of Japan and the cover art for the LEGO Marvel Galactus vs The Fantastic Four set. Interestingly, no Silver Surfer looks to be a part of the LEGO set who is played by Julia Garner in the movie.

“She is the herald of Galactus, so she works for Galactus, but you’re not sure where she stands,” Garner recently said in an interview. “Does she stand with her boss, or is she just doing what she’s told? She has this mysterious energy about her, and slowly that mystery will get solved with the audience throughout watching it.”

The recent trailer (watch below) showed off a tease of Galactus as he made his way through the FF’s alternate NYC.

I think it would actually be pretty cool if they keep the official reveal of Galactus under wraps until the release of the flick.

Who is Galactus?

Galactus is a powerful cosmic entity from Marvel Comics, known as the “Devourer of Worlds.” Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Fantastic Four #48 in 1966. Galactus survives by consuming the energy of entire planets and is often portrayed as a force of nature rather than a traditional villain.

His arrival usually signals the destruction of a world, and he often employs heralds like the Silver Surfer to find new planets for him to feed on.

What Will Happen with Galactus and the Fantastic Four?

In the comics, The Watcher is often involved with the FF vs Galactus as well as the Ultimate Nullifier, a weapon capable of wiping out solar systems in the blink of an eye.

It remains to be seen how things work out in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but perhaps a big spoiler clue is that Marvel Studios has confirmed the FF cast for Avengers: Doomsday. We’ll leave it at that.

Release info

The Fantastic Four: First Steps gets released on July 25, 2025 directed by Matt Shakman.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) — as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
