The Flash and Supergirl will have another crossover this year, which will consist of a musical, as stars Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin were featured in the Glee musical TV series.

Now the villain of The Flash and Supergirl musical crossover has become known, which is a familiar foe from the animated series, Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Executive producer Greg Berlanti confirmed the villain will be the Music Meister, who controls people through his song. Neil Patrick Harris voiced the character in the Batman: The Brave and the Bold series and is a fan-favorite choice for The Flash and Supergirl, but Berlanti cautioned that the casting process hasn't gotten that far, yet.

“We haven’t gone about casting yet. It’s the right question, though!" Berlanti told IGN.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg also mentioned he's hopeful for Neil Patrick Harris.

“We're certainly huge fans of him and as the casting process proceeds we'll see what happens,” Kreisberg said.

Neil Patrick Harris has been rumored for some time for the role, and Joss Whedon has also been rumored to direct The Flash and Supergirl musical crossover. Harris was actually featured in Whedon's 2008 musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.

Regarding the rumor of reprising as the live-action Music Meister for The Flash and Supergirl, Neil Patrick Harris recently told CBR: “I’ve heard about it, but that’s as much as it has been. I mean, I did the Music Meister in a recording booth in L.A. … 15 years ago or something, y’know, and it comes out a year later. […] It was a fun episode, it was a good thing to day. But I’ve heard that Joss [Whedon] is involved in some way, but I don’t know if that’s true or not. … He wears a big zoot suit, from what I remember. The song was fun to sing, so I don’t know; we’ll see.”

The CW has yet to announce the air date for The Flash and Supergirl musical crossover.
