Kevin Feige has big things to say about The Fantastic Four: First Steps to match the galactic-sized debut of Galactus in the movie. Vanessa Kirby also further opens up about playing Invisible Woman Sue Storm and hints that not just the adults have superpowers.
The movie is featured in the latest issue of Empire Magazine, which sports two FF covers and includes new images of Kirby, and Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards.

Kevin Feige Calls the Fantastic Four “Marvel’s Most Important Characters”
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige says this film is a dream project.
“I think that there are no four characters that are more important for the history of Marvel,” Feige told Empire.
He added that Disney’s acquisition of Fox made it possible to finally bring the team into the MCU: “When Disney bought Fox, it was really an unexpected dream come true,” Feige said. “It came at the perfect time, to help us launch into a new era. They are Marvel’s First Family, and I really wanted to do them justice.”

Feige also hinted at a more faithful and bold approach to the source material, including Galactus.
“There was still a bit of fear of being silly,” he admitted, referencing past adaptations. “In another time, some might consider the notion of somebody with a big, angular helmet walking through a city goofy. I consider it awesome.”

Vanessa Kirby Nerds Out Over Sue Storm
Vanessa Kirby, who plays Sue Storm, said she went full nerd in her first meeting with Marvel.
“I’m such a Sue nerd,” she said. “I think I out-nerded everyone in that room.”
Kirby dove deep into the science side of the character: “I got so into quantum physics. It’s sad how much I got into it. I could waffle on about cellular vibration frequency.”
She also teased a key theme, which if you think about it, ties into the title of the movie being “First Steps”: “It’s not just adults that have superpowers,” she said. “You don’t mess with family.”
It’s known that Sue is pregnant in the movie, and an action figure gives a first look at their son, Franklin Richards.

Matt Shakman on Sue’s Role as a Leader
Director Matt Shakman said this version of Sue will be more than just the team’s emotional core, she’s a leader.
“She’s the inspiring, idealistic leader of what the Fantastic Four represents,” Shakman explained. “She’s essentially the Secretary-General of the UN,” referencing how the film is drawing from later comic book runs.
A previous interview also went into Sue’s politics in the film.
