Fake News Alert: Spider-Man: Homecoming Zendaya Rumor

Fake News Alert: Spider-Man: Homecoming Zendaya Rumor

Update #2: I’ve read the Spider-Man: Homecoming Junior Novelization myself, and the book makes no mention at all or even hints that Zendaya is Vulture’s daughter.

Original Article:

With James Comey testifying, do we have more fake news (lol)?

Earlier today a rumor hit regarding Zendaya in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

No. She’s apparently still not playing Mary Jane (TG).

A website reported that the Spider-Man: Homecoming Junior Novelization states Zendya is playing a character named Michelle Toomes–meaning she is the daughter of Michael Keaton’s Vulture.

However, apparently the Spider-Man: Homecoming Junior Novelization DOES NOT list the last name of Michelle in the book, and the rumor is false.

I haven’t read the book to verify for myself, but users on Tumblr and Reddit, who apparently have, are stating the book does not list Michelle as having the last name of “Toomes.”

Maybe the web site was “hoping” Zendaya was Vulture’s daughter?!

If anyone has read the book, feel free to Tweet me on Twitter about it.

Update: I bought the Kindle version and did a search: There is no Michelle Toomes.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming” has a July 7, 2017 release directed by Jon Watts starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.

Synopsis:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
