Exclusive: Ben Affleck Signs Huge Multi-Picture Deal For Batman; Lex Luthor Has Been Cast

While the official Warner Bros. press release didn’t specifically announce it, I’ve learned that Ben Affleck has signed a multi-picture deal to play Batman.

Described by a source close to Warner Bros. as “huge,” Affleck has signed on for multiple movies portraying Batman and Bruce Wayne.

I’ve also learned that the as-of-yet untitled Batman/Superman movie will feature Lex Luthor, and that the role has been cast.

Previous rumors mentioned for Lex Luthor include Mark Strong and Bryan Cranston.

I haven’t been able to verify whether or not Strong or Cranston has been awarded the role, or if it’s someone else entirely.

The same source stated that Warner Bros. is building a lot leading up to the Justice League movie.

You can read the official Warner Bros. announcement regarding Ben Affleck as the new Batman, which also announced the movie has a July 17, 2015 release with production set to begin next year.

The film is also set to star Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
