Elon Musk Blasts ‘Rings Of Power’; Neil Gaiman Responds For Some Reason

Add Elon Musk to the many who aren’t happy with Amazon Prime Video’s new The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series.

The multi-billionaire owner of Tesla tweeted on Monday that J.R.R. Tolkien is spinning in his grave and pointed out the woke aspects of the series, which actually sees Neil Gaiman chime in who is the creator of The Sandman which is on Netflix.

“Tolkien is turning in his grave,” said Musk, adding, “Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice.”

Typically what happens when Hollywood goes woke is that the story is sacrificed for the sake of the politically correct-driven content.

Neil Gaiman responds to Elon Musk

Regarding Gaiman’s Sandman, which did see a number of woke changes, including changing fan-favorite John Constantine to Johanna Constantine, replacing lots of characters with POC, and making them gay, I’ll say it does have a pretty good story, but similar to Musk’s Rings of Power comments, all the male characters in The Sandman aren’t worth much (just like Disney Star Wars, Marvel, etc.).

“Elon Musk doesn’t come to me for advice on how to fail to buy Twitter, and I don’t go to him for film, TV or literature criticism,” tweeted Gaiman in response to a sad fan questioning him about Musk’s thoughts.

So what? Elon Musk can’t be a fan of Lord of the Rings and can’t voice his opinions? Okay.

That said, Musk does have a history with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos as the two have regularly trolled each other throughout the years and they both own space companies that seemingly compete.

However, Elon Musk is right on as the first two episodes of Rings of Power have been a major disappointment as the series so far is boring and directionless.

Rings of Power is getting destroyed by fans on Rotten Tomatoes as it currently has a 39% Audience Score (up from a 34%) and a 6.8 on Rotten Tomatoes (up from a 6.1), but it has been reported Amazon has suspended user ratings, with Rotten Tomatoes deleting negative fan reviews.
