Lately, there have been rumors that Dwayne Johnson is going to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in possibly some kind of voice role. While at the MTV Movie Awards for Avengers: Endgame, director Anthony Russo answers who he thinks The Rock should play in the MCU.
“The Rock. The superhero that I would most like The Rock to play is The Rock,” Russo replied to MTV with a laugh. “He is the best version of him.”
Interestingly enough, Dwayne Johnson is rumored just that — to be playing The Thing in a Fantastic Four reboot within the MCU, a character made entirely of rock.
As Johnson is set to play Black Adam in the DCEU, obviously he wouldn’t be playing two different live-action superhero roles, but the speculation has it that, following in the footsteps of his Fast and Furious co-star Vin Diesel who voices Groot in the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movies (and is also set to play Bloodshot for Sony and Valiant), Dwayne Johnson will voice a character in the MCU, with rumors offering possibly Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.
Dwayne Johnson rumored for Marvel Fantastic Four reboot
The Dwayne Johnson Marvel rumors and speculation kicked up when The Rock let it be known that in the wake of the massive success with Avengers: Endgame, that he would be having dinner with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. It’s thought Johnson might be having a chat with Feige about joining the MCU.
If not The Thing, who would Dwayne Johnson be a good character to play in the MCU? Any ideas? Maybe a villain role similar to Josh Brolin playing Thanos (who also played Cable in Deadpool 2)? Hit us up in the comments below!
