With the near $800 million box office gross that Deadpool brought it, it’s learned a sequel is coming sooner rather than later.
Fox’s Simon Kinberg filled in Collider that the Deadpool 2 script is almost complete, and that they want to start filming as early as next year.
“The guys, (Paul) Wernick and (Rhett) Rheese, are working on the script, and we hope to have a script very soon… we hope to shoot the movie sometime in the beginning of next year,” Kinberg said.
No details for Deadpool 2 have been released other than it will feature Cable and Ryan Reynolds will return. It’s also been said that it should still have the same tone and budget as the first movie (around $50 million). Domino has also also been rumored for the sequel.
No release date has been set for Deadpool 2.
