DCU Lanterns: Sinestro Challenges Superman, Atrocitus Secret Villain?

DCU Lanterns: Sinestro Challenges Superman, Atrocitus Secret Villain?

Following that cool leaked flight video, the DCU Lanterns series continues gaining steam, as Sinestro has challenged Superman, and it could very well be possible that Atrocitus is a secret villain of the show.

Ulrich Thomsen calls out Superman

For Superman Day last Friday, Ulrich Thomsen, who is confirmed to play Sinestro in Lanterns, donned an official Superman shirt and called out the David Corenswet Man of Steel.

“I will challenge you,” said Thomsen rather confidently in the video.

Since Lanterns is now in production, it’s probably safe to assume that how Ulrich Thomsen looks in the video (sporting the mustache and all) is how his Sinestro will look in the series. Check it out:

Atrocitus a secret villain?

Regarding Atrocitus, following the leaked flight video, WB was quick to announce the casting news of actor Paul Ben-Victor in Lanterns.

The trades have reported Paul Ben-Victor is playing the key recurring role of “Antaan” and described the character as:

An extraterrestrial devoted to exposing the truth and exacting vengeance against those who wronged his people. Consumed by a deep and unrelenting hatred for the law, he is determined to deliver justice on his own terms.

Well, if you are familiar with the comics, that sounds a lot like Atrocitus, who is the leader of the Red Lantern Corps, whose powers are derived from the emotional spectrum relating to anger. The character’s co-creator, Ethan Van Sciver, also thinks it could be Atrocitus, as Van Sciver got excited by the news on social media.
