Sean Gunn is playing Maxwell Lord in the DCU, though itâs not clear if he will be in Superman: Legacy. Itâs also rumored Milly Alcock as Supergirl will appear in the film prior to her own solo movie.
What is Superman: Legacy about?
DC describes Superman: Legacy as telling the story of Supermanâs journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
James Gunn also previously described his version of Superman as a âbig galoot.â
âHeâs a big olâ galoot. Heâs a farmboy from Kansas whoâs very idealistic. His greatest weakness is that heâll never kill anybody,â Gunn said. âHe doesnât want to hurt a living soul. I like that sort of innate goodness about Superman; itâs his defining characteristic. Heâs not âAll-Star Superman,â but again, Iâm a huge fan of âAll-Star Superman,â and Iâm very inspired by [that series].â

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
Release Date: Unknown
Director: Uknown
Writer: Ana Nogueira
Cast: Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl
What is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow about?
Per Variety: Ultimately, Gunn was looking to move away from previous depictions of the Girl of Steel, particularly the long-running CBS/CW series fronted by Melissa Benoist, and is aiming for a less earnest and more edgy version of the iconic superheroine.
Also via Variety: In the new iteration, Supergirl travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and winds up on a murderous quest for revenge.
During last yearâs DCU announcement Gunn also said: In our series we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl. Sheâs much more hardcore; sheâs not exactly the Supergirl weâre used to seeing.

Brave and the Bold

âThis is the introduction of the DCU Batman,â said Gunn. âOf Bruce Wayne and also introduces our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a little son of a bitch.â
Gunn continued, âAssassin, murderer who Batman takes on, who is Batmanâs actual son that he doesnât know exists for the first 8-10 years of his lifeâŠ.itâs a strange father and son story about the two of them and based on Grant Morrisonâs run of the Batman.â
Gunn also said that once Matt Reeves is done with his own script for The Batman 2 that âitâs something weâll have to balance out with this movie.â
âOf course, everythingâs going to be balanced so The Brave and the Bold is not going to be coming out in the same six-month period as The Batman,â said Gunn.
Itâs also confirmed the DCU Batman will be new and not played by Robert Pattinson.
