Dave Bautista Taking On Aliens In Dystopian Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Dreadnought’

Dave Bautista is set to star in the upcoming dystopian thriller Dreadnought, reuniting with his Bushwick directors, Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott. The film is being produced by Thunder Road, known for the John Wick franchise, and WME Independent will handle sales at the European Film Market in Berlin.

The Plot

Written by Joseph Greenberg, Dreadnought centers on Max (played by Bautista), whose life is shattered after an alien species crashes on Earth, spreading a deadly plague that kills his wife and decimates humanity. While the remnants of society have adapted to coexist with these extraterrestrial invaders, Max isn’t content with just surviving.

His daughter, Greta, is dying from the alien disease. As her condition worsens, an alien Sentinel approaches their home. This silent predator has one purpose: to collect Greta’s body for a metamorphosis ritual sanctioned by the government and accepted by society. But Max refuses to let anything else be taken from him.

The Team Behind Dreadnought

The film is produced by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road, alongside Jason Ross Jallet, Andrew Bronfman, and Jonathan Bronfman of Beyond The Frame (Bride Hard). Bautista and Ashley Daniels are producing under Dogbone Entertainment (Trap House), with Noah Segal of Elevation Pictures (Infinity Pool) serving as executive producer. Marz VFX, known for their work on The Creator, will handle the visual effects.

Basil Iwanyk shared his enthusiasm for the project with Deadline: “Erica and I have been trying to make a movie with Jon and Cary since we saw Bushwick. They’re able to create incredible tension, mount some kick-ass action, and create a compelling world without breaking the bank. It’s exactly the kind of filmmakers Thunder Road has succeeded with in the past.”
