Crisis on Earth-X Crossover Announced: Supergirl, The Flash, Legends, Arrow

Crisis on Earth-X

The CW has announced the premiere of the next 4-part crossover involving Supergirl, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow with Crisis on Earth-X.

Crisis on Earth-X began filming today.

Details for Crisis on Earth-X include that all of the superheroes come to town for Barry and Iris’ wedding; however, villains from Earth-X crash the festivities with a deadly agenda (via EW).

“We conceived this year’s crossover to be evocative of the annual Justice League/Justice Society crossovers we grew up with and looked forward to as kids,” said executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg in a statement.

Promo art has also been released in the form of a comic book cover from artist Phil Jimenez.

On the basis of the cover, it appears as if The CW heroes will be fighting evil versions of themselves. Melissa Benoist is actually voicing Overgirl, Supergirl’s evil Earth-X counterpart, for the CW Seed’s digital animated series Freedom Fighters: The Ray.

The poster further reveals that apparently The Ray will make his way into the live-action CW universe as well.

Update: Russell Tovey has been cast as the live-action The Ray.

Update #2: Prometheus returns for Crisis on Earth-X.

Crisis on Earth-X kicks off Monday November 27th on Supergirl at 8pm ET, followed by a special Monday night episode of Arrow at 9pm ET and concludes on Tuesday November 28th with The Flash at 8pm ET followed by DC’s Legends of Tomorrow at 9pm ET.
