With James Gunn due to begin filming Guardians of the Galaxy 2Ā in February, itās learned The Collector more than likely will be not a part of the sequel.
ComingSoon.net recently caught up with Benicio Del Toro who offered heās doubutful heāll return.
āI donāt think so,āĀ Del Toro said when asked about The Collector returning.Ā āThey would have told me, I hopeā¦ I do hope to play that character again at some point.ā
As noted, itās possible Benicio Del Toro could return as The Collector in a later film asĀ in the post-credits sequence toĀ Thor: The Dark World, The Collector is given the Aether (theĀ Reality Infinity Stone) for safe keeping (Thanos will need to aquire it for the Infinity War movies.
While The Collector may not appear, itās speculated his cosmic brother, The Grandmaster, may, with Al Pacino possibly playing the character.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has a May 5, 20117 release.
