RIP Rowdy Roddy Piper

WWE and actor Roderick George Toombs, aka Rowdy Roddy Piper, passed away last night due to cardiac arrest.

Piper died at the age of 61 in his sleep and was found Friday morning.

Piper was known for being one of the most popular wrestlers off all time having fought Hulk Hogan and Mr. T in Wrestelmania 1.

Rowdy also had an acting career having starred in the popular cult John Carpenter movie in 1988 with They Live.

Piper has three movies this year with The Green Fairy, Tales of the Wicked Unseen and Betting on Baker; a short out next year with Portal to Hell!!!, and Enter the Fist: The Legacy of the Dragon has a 2017 release starring Taimak of The Last Dragon.

TMZ most recently spoke to Roddy Piper last Friday about the Hulk Hogan situation in which Piper defended his life-long friend.

Likewise, TMZ caught up with Hogan to get his thoughts and feelings on his friend’s passing.

“He was my best friend. He is a legend.” Hogan said about Rowdy. “God’s gain is our loss. May his family in this time of need, find peace. Much love forever, HH.”

Piper is survived by his wife and four children.
