The new Power Rangers fan-film is causing all sorts of uproar.
Not only is Saban Entertainment trying to get it taken down, but now the Green Ranger himself, Jason David Frank, is slamming the serious take on the popular kids’ show.
Frank took to his Facebook page to release a video about his thoughts on “Power/Rangers” where he offered he was approached to be in the film, but decided against it.
“I know there’s a lot of fans out there that love it and all that stuff, but I’m just a PG-13 guy,” Frank said. “The cuss words, the drugs, all this other stuff — it doesn’t fly with me.”
Frank then continues why he isn’t a fan.
“The problem is that [Power Rangers is] still connected with adult and kids,” he said. “The Super Mega Force and the Power Rangers Dino Force is still on Nickelodeon. You can’t take a brand like this and reboot it so dark and gritty.”
Jason David Frank mentions that Power Rangers is essentially a kids show, and then says he would rather be in the real Power Rangers movie.
