Christopher Nolan Looks To Direct SF Time Travel Movie “Interstellar”

Following The Dark Knight Rises, it’s being reported that Christopher Nolan wants to next direct and produce the science-fiction time travel movie, Interstellar.

THR reports that Nolan is in negotiations to direct the movie, which is written by his brother Jonathan Nolan, and will be a joint venture from Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures.

The movie is said to be based on the scientific theories developed by a Kip Thorne and involves time travel as well as alternate dimensions as a group of explorers travel through a worm hole.

THR notes that the deal has not gone through as negotiations have been underway for months and is “described as very complex.”

Paramount is involved because the movie is set up there, and Warner Bros. is involved because Interstellar would go through Christopher Nolan’s Syncopy banner, which put out The Dark Knight Trilogy and is based at WB.

At one time Steven Spielberg was also attached to Interstallar, but it’s unknown exactly what – if any – involvement Spielberg will have.

Previous to news on this, Warner Bros. apparently wanted Christopher Nolan to direct the upcoming 2015 Justice League movie, to which Nolan passed on.
