Chris Pratt & Karen Gillan Respond To James Gunn Getting Fired

James Gunn has been fired from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Marvel Studios by Disney over tweets that resurfaced from ten years ago joking about pedophilia and rape.

Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn released the following statement about firing James Gunn from the company: “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him.”

James Gunn has since apologized again for the tweets, and following his brother, Sean Gunn, and Dave Bautista taking to social media offering support, now Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt takes to social media as well quoting a bible passage.

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.” JAMES 1:19

Chris Pratt also included emjois featuring praying hands and a heart.

It was James Gunn who gave Chris Pratt his big movie break on Guardians of the Galaxy, as Gunn cast Pratt as Star-Lord following playing Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation. Pratt then got into super shape for the role of Star-Lord and eventually landed additional Hollywood roles including the lead of the Jurassic World franchise.

Marvel Studios has yet to name a replacement for James Gunn as Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is supposed to start filming at the start of next year for its 2020 release date.
