Paramount moves forward with their Transformers universe by getting a director for the Bumblebee spinoff.
Deadline reports Travis Knight will direct the Bumblebee movie, which is the first spinoff from the Michael Bay Transformers films.
Travis Knight is known for the Oscar-nominated stop-motion animated success Kubo And The Two Strings.
The Bumblebee Transformers movie spinoff marks the first project from the Transformers writers room project whose job it was to come up with ideas to build a Transformers shared universe. An animated origin Cybertron movie is also said to be in the works.
The Bumblebee script is being by Christina Hodson, with Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg producing with Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis.
Up next for Paramount is Transformers: The Last Knight, which hits June 23rd directed by Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg.
