New chosen one
Sarah Michelle Gellar gave Armstrong the good news in a recorded video. Watch below.
“From the moment I saw Ryan’s audition, I knew there was only one girl that I wanted by my side,” Gellar said. “To have that kind of emotional intelligence, and talent, at such a young age is truly a gift. The bonus is that her smile lights up even the darkest room.”
Ryan Kiera Armstrong also reacted on social media:
I’m so beyond thankful and excited to share that I am going to be a part of the BTVS universe!!! I am so excited for this journey with you, Sarah Michelle Gellar. I am in awe of you. Thank you so much, Joanne Colonna and Abby Bluestone, for believing in me. I would never ever be here without you guys. Thank you, Chloe Zhao, for trusting me—I’m such a fan. I’m still in so much shock and disbelief. Noral Zee and Lilla Zuck, I’m so, SO excited to work with you both. Finally, thank you to my amazing parents who have allowed me to follow my dream. Love youuuu. I WON’T LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!
Details for Buffy reboot
Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, who directed Marvel’s Eternals, is directing the pilot episode, which is written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. Plot details are being kept under wraps. Sarah Michelle Gellar also recently said the rumors that came out about the reboot aren’t true.
“Those are all fake characters. That thing that got released is all fake,” Gellar told Elite Daily of previous reports that the series will center on “a cerebral 16-year-old named Nova … who is very smart and a bit of a loner,” as well as her friends “Hugo, an out-and-proud nerd who comes from money, and Gracie, a young expert on vampires who’s an acolyte of Gellar’s Buffy.”
15-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong recently played Fern in Skeleton Crew, and she’s known for Firestarter, American Horror Story, and more.
