Brie Larson reveals that thanks to porn, she landed the role of Envy Adams in 2010âs Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
In her latest YouTube video, Brie Larson goes over the âgood, the bad and the uglyâ of her auditions, revealing the roles she tried out for and obviously didnât get, which also happens to include Iron Man 2 and the first Thor movie in addition to a lot more films and tv shows.
Regarding the porn thing and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Brie Larson says she didnât know anything about the graphic novel or her character but ended up inspired by the women walking the red carpet during the adult film awards.
âScott Pilgrim⊠[laughs] was interesting. I was a huge fan of Edgar Wright. Really wanted to be in this movie. Didnât understand what the movie was exactly,â explained Larson. âIt was based off of a graphic novel that there was only one of them out. So I didnât have enough information to really understand what it was. The pages that I had were a little bit pieces of the script and most of it was redacted, and the only thing that was there was a description that said, âa husky non-Ramona voice.â I didnât even know who Ramona was. It was like âI donât know how to not be Ramona but I gotta not be that.â
Larson continued: âThis is the truth and itâs really crazy. So, I was staying up way too late, flipping through the channels, and I stumbled on the Adult Video Awards, and I was watching the Red Carpet, and I was watching these women with this confidence and this allure, and they were so great at their self-promotion, and I was like âthatâs itâ [laughing]. Thatâs what Iâm going to do⊠I was cast pretty quick [laughs]. It was bomb.â
Larson shows off the audition which landed her the role at the 6:24 mark on YouTube. Check out a screengrabs below.
