Brainiac-5 Actor Responds To Supergirl Backlash

This Monday sees the Legion Of Super Heroes debut on Supergirl which sees the super team from the future help Kara battle the Kryptonian world killer, Reign.

The CW recently debuted a look at Brainiac 5, played by Jesse Rath, with many fans online not happy with the special effects and makeup of the character.

Now Jesse Rath has taken to Twitter to respond to the backlash.

“I get better throughout the episode. I promise… Just wait till I start talking. I’ll grown on you,” Rath said.

It probably should be noted that Supergirl is a TV show and doesn’t have a large budget for special effects and things of that nature, but it should also be said that Brainiac 5 in Supergirl doesn’t look anything like his comic book counterpart, unfortunately.

The episode airs Monday, February 15th at 8pm EST.

Here is the description:

MEET THE LEGION – Struggling to heal from her injuries inflicted by Reign (Odette Annable), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) remains in a dreamlike state, unable to be reached. Mon-El (Chris Wood) recruits one of the Legion members, Brainiac-5 (guest star Jesse Rath), to try to bring her back. Meanwhile, Reign continues her rampage on the city so the DEO teams up with the Legion of Superheroes to try to stop her. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Derek Simon & Eric Carrasco.
