Bradley Cooper Not Playing The Flash

Bradley Cooper was in contention to play Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie, but was beat out by Ryan Reynolds.

ObsessedWithFilm.com asked the actor if he would be interested at all in playing The Flash.

It was reported that Bradley Cooper was in the lead for the role of Barry Allen, as Marc Guggenheim, Michael Green, and Greg Berlanti have worked on the story with Guggenheim and Berlanti on the script.

The actor responded reluctantly.

“Well, I auditioned for the Green Lantern and didn’t get it so I’m reluctant to put on the cape again,” said Cooper.

Cooper is currently starring in the sci-fi move Limitless with Robert DeNiro that sees a former cocaine addict who discovers a top-secret drug that bestows him with superhuman abilities.

Limitless is in theaters on March 18th.

Update: We’ve also been told that originally Ryan Reynolds wanted to play The Flash. However, when he had a meeting with WB, they didn’t want him to play The Flash and told him it’s Green Lantern or nothing. Since Reynolds really wanted to play a superhero, he decided to go with Green Lantern. Zack Snyder also cast Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, The Flash.
