Ben Affleck Rumored For The MCU: Not Daredevil

Welcome Ben Affleck to the MCU? And it’s NOT Daredevil?!

A big rumor hits the net that says just that, that Ben Affleck, who recently played DC and Zack Snyder’s Batman, is in talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As Affleck already played a Marvel character with Daredevil, some fans theorized it meant Affleck would be back as the Man Without Fear in Deadpool & Wolverine this Summer and/or Avengers: Secret Wars.

However, the rumor is stating the MCU role is not for Daredevil.

What does the rumor say?

The rumor comes via DanielRPK who says Ben Affleck is in talks for the MCU.

According to a Redditor, when a fan remarked Daredevil, DanielRPK replied that it’s not as Daredevil.

Let the speculation begin.

Who could Ben Affleck be playing in the MCU?

Is it DC vs Marvel?

A wild fan theory on Reddit thinks it means there will be a DC vs Marvel crossover as apparently there is some big post-credit scene that is supposed to be featured in Deadpool & Wolverine, so that could mean Affleck shows up at Batman?!

James Gunn, who was at Marvel, is now in charge of DC, so could it happen? Gunn actually pitched DC vs. Marvel.

However, Affleck doesn’t seem to be on good terms with either DC or Gunn. Following that big DCU announcement, Gunn said he talked to Affleck about a DC movie, however, Affleck said he would “absolutely not direct something for the Gunn DC.” Smoke and mirrors?!

Affleck’s gotten f’d over multiple times at DC playing Batman. The latest is that he was supposed to be featured at the end of The Flash movie, but that was all nixed, and instead, Gunn came onboard and rebooted things at the request of David Zaslav.

So who could Affleck be playing if not Daredevil?

How about Harry Osborn?

Maybe Feige is adapting Dark Reign and the Dark Avengers from the comics where Norman Osborn dons Iron Man armor and works for the government? It would fit with Thunderbolts and The Sentry.

Doctor Doom?!

Another possibility would be the MCU’s Doctor Doom, which would be frickin’ huge. Doom is rumored to have a small role in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie prior to having major role in the MCU and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Marvel definitely needs something big, and Affleck could be it.
