In a historic event celebrating the legacy of one of the worldâs most iconic superheroes, Batman will receive the 2,790th star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, September 26.
Known for his unyielding determination, intelligence, and technical prowess, Batman has been a symbol of justice and resilience for generations. As the first superhero to be honored with a star, the event marks a significant milestone in both comic book and entertainment history.
The ceremony, hosted by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will take place at 11:30 a.m. PT at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum. Batmanâs star will be placed next to television Batman Adam West and co-creator Bob Kane, symbolizing his long-standing influence on global pop culture. Attendees will include DCâs president and chief creative officer Jim Lee, and senior vice president and general manager Anne DePies.
In addition to receiving a star, Batman will be honored with a Guinness World Records title as the first superhero to receive this prestigious accolade. Guinness adjudicator Michael Empric will present the award during the ceremony, further solidifying Batmanâs impact on both the comic book industry and entertainment as a whole. Batmanâs many Guinness World Records include having the longest-running comic book series (Detective Comics), being the most adapted comic book character in film, and featuring the most Oscar-winning actors portraying a single superhero.
In collaboration with the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Funko Hollywood will host an all-day fan event. The celebration will include a rare public appearance by Jim Lee, who will participate in a meet-and-greet and signing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Funko Hollywood, located at 6201 Hollywood Blvd. Fans eager to attend the exclusive signing will need to secure wristbands, which will be available to the first 100 people who purchase a Batman product from Funko Hollywood on September 24. No outside products are allowed, and wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adding to the festivities, Warner Bros. Archives will unveil a special pop-up museum at Funko Hollywood, featuring costumes and props from Batmanâs cinematic history. Fans will have the chance to see iconic pieces from the Caped Crusaderâs film and TV appearances, providing a rare opportunity to witness Batmanâs enduring legacy up close.
Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Batman first appeared in 1939âs Detective Comics #27 and has since become a timeless figure in American mythology. For over 85 years, Batman has captured the imaginations of fans around the world, serving as a symbol of courage, strength, and unwavering justice. Whether as the Dark Knight, the Caped Crusader, or the Worldâs Greatest Detective, Batmanâs influence spans across comics, film, television, and beyond.
DC, part of Warner Bros. Discovery, continues to entertain and inspire fans with its iconic characters and stories. Batmanâs Hollywood Walk of Fame star is just one more milestone in his legendary legacy, further cementing his place in both comic book history and global entertainment.
