Yuhki Demers has released concept art for a Batman Beyond animated movie that he pitched to Warner Bros. with Patrick Harpin, with the hope that James Gunn will now develop the project.
Yuhki Demers is known for the Spider-Verse movies, and the pair also worked on The Emoji Movie.
Batman Beyond is set in the future featuring Terry McGinnis as the Caped Crusader with an aging Bruce Wayne mentoring and passing the baton.

“5 months ago Patrick Harpin walked into @wbpictures @DCofficial and pitched a ๐๐ข๐ต๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ฆ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฅ Animated Feature,” tweeted Demers. “Before we pitched, they warned us ‘there is absolutely no way we can do a ๐๐ฆ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฅ movie,’ but they loved our enthusiasm. We pitched the outline for the entire film, and what started as a ‘never’ turned into a ‘maybe.'”
Demers added they now hope James Gunn will develop the project.
“In the time since, we’ve been pitching our way up the company hoping to get to @jamesgunn. But for now, here’s a taste of what we’ve been cooking,” tweeted Demers.
Recently, a live-action version was going to be made starring Michael Keaton, but David Zaslav put the kibosh on the flick along with a lot of other DC plans.
Batman Beyond started as an animated television series created by Paul Dini, Bruce Timm, and Alan Burnett; produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the show debuted on January 10, 1999, on Kids’ WB, concluding its run on December 18, 2001.
